Nkana coach Masauso Mwale has issued a passionate plea to the club’s supporters to rally behind the team ahead of their Caf Confederation Cup clash on Saturday.
The 2013 Zambia champions host Tunisian club CA Bizertin in a pre-group stage, first leg match at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe.
Nkana are feeling the pressure heading into the first leg on the back of a five-match winless run stretching back to 8 March.
That run of results has seen them pick up four scoreless draws including a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Zamalek that saw them eliminated from the Caf Champions League by the same margin.
“They should come and rally behind the team because you see football sometimes you can go through this patch but with the support from our fans they will push us,” Mwale said.
“They need to cheer the players and not to jeer them because what they want is to see us win so they need to encourage the players to do well.”
The pressure on Nkana was telling last weekend when striker Ronald Kampamba saw his penalty saved in a scoreless home league draw against Napsa Stars in at the same venue.
“Even when one player makes a mistake and who never makes a mistake they need to rally and believe in him,” Mwale said.
