Copperbelt Police Commissioner Joyce Kasosa says Police have launched investigations into the alleged beating of UPND members who were in the company of party president Hakainde Hichilema by Patriotic Front cadres in Ndola.
Mrs Kasosa has told Qfm News in an interview that Police stand ready to protect every citizen without regardless of their political affiliation.
Mrs. Kasosa explains that it is in this regard that Police will not tolerate any violence against any individual.
She says her officers have so far not made any arrest in connection with the violence against the UPND presidential entourage.
UPND president Hakainde Hichilema has to be whisked away from Patriotic Front cadres who had besieged SUN FM radio in Ndola where he was appearing on a radio interview.
However some UPND members who had accompanied him were attacked by the cadres.
