Collins Mbesuma could be playing his last season of professional football, with Orlando Pirates coach Vladimir Vermezovic claiming the striker “looks ready to retire.”
The Zambia international has struggled for game time with the Soweto giants this season, largely due to what the Buccaneers coach believes is a lack of commitment and an issue with his weight.
“For Collins I realised at training that he is probably a player who knows more about football than most in our squad but his body looks ready to retire and he is overweight,” Vermezovic is quoted as saying by ZamFoot.
“And this season for him is too late to do anything.”
Mbesuma, the 2005 PSL Player of the Season, has endured a rapid fall from grace since 2012, where he was part of the Zambia team which lifted their first ever Africa Cup of Nations crown before he went on to join Pirates from Golden Arrows.
