MMD acting national secretary Chembe Nyangu has reiterated that there is no structure in the party called ‘Die Hard Youth Wing.’
Mr Nyangu has since written to all media houses to stop quoting Bowman Lusambo as MMD die hard youth wing coordinator as the structure was not only illegal but also non-existent.
“My appeal to you is that, you should stop referring to Mr Lusambo as MMD die hard youth wing because there is no such structure in MMD.
If you want to continue getting news from Mr Lusambo, please quote him by his name,” Mr Nyangu said in a letter to the Times.
Mr Nyangu last week wrote a letter to Mr Lusambo warning him to stop abusing the name of the party for his personal attacks against senior party members on the pretext that his illegal organisation was affiliated to the MMD.
He said Mr Lusambo’s actions were causing divisions in the party as he had on many occasions abused the media when he attacked senior leadership in MMD.
Mr Nyangu threatened to report Mr Lusambo to the police for impersonating as one of the recognised affiliated bodies of MMD.
Meanwhile, Mr Nyangu has said the secretariat has not yet received petitions from the provincial executive committees (PEC) demanding an extraordinary convention.
MMD vice-president for politics Michael Kaingu told the media recently that seven provinces had petitioned the National Executive Committee (NEC) to call for an extraordinary convention to hold fresh elections.
NEC members led by the two party vice-presidents, Brian Chituwo, Mr Kaingu and spokesperson Dora Siliya recently held a press briefing and announced that the entire executive had failed the people and the best solution was to dissolve and call for fresh elections.
