PRESIDENT Sata is today scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with European Union (EU) Commission president Jose Maneul Barroso in Brussels during which the two leaders will discuss issues of mutual interest to Zambia and the commission.
The President is later this evening expected to meet and address Zambians in BeNeLux at a dinner to be hosted in his honour by the Zambian Embassy in Belgium.
This is according to a programme released here by the Zambian Embassy.
And President Sata is tomorrow expected to hold bilateral talks with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk in a bid to strengthen relations between Zambia and Poland.
President Sata’s meetings with Mr Barroso and Mr Tusk will be held ahead of the official opening ceremony of the Fourth Africa-EU Summit at the EU Commission headquarters here tomorrow afternoon.
During the summit, African Heads of State and Government have resolved to speak with one voice on a wide range of issues that include economic partnership agreements (EPAs), respect for minority rights and culture, climate change, water boundaries and the environment.
Meanwhile, Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry Bob Sichinga yesterday joined other African and European ministers and senior Government officials at the official opening of the Business Forum by Mr Barroso at Crowne Plaza Hotel.
Mr Sichinga was accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry, the Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) and the Zambian private sector companies.
