Acting republican President Alexander Chikwanda has implored Patriotic Front (PF) Members of Parliament (MPs) not to allow people in their constituencies begin to feel that the trust they put in them by voting for them was misplaced.
Mr. Chikwanda says the MPs should regularly engage people in their constituencies and ensure that development takes places where it is needed.
Mr. Chikwanda, who is also Finance Minister, has also admitted that the PF government has a huge backdrop of development arrears due to the slow pace of development in the past.
He has however, noted that government is still making progress to ensure that the huge development deficiency is cleared.
Mr Chikwanda was speaking this morning when Deputy Commerce Minister and Matero Member of Parliament Miles Sampa donated 10 computers to Matero Boys Secondary School in Lusaka.
And Mr. Chikwanda has observed that such a donation to the School is of significant value especially that it was from Matero Constituency where President Michael Sata and the area MP got massive votes during the 2011 general elections.
Mr. Chikwanda also donated K5, 000 meant to purchase the software for the 10 computers.
And Mr. Sampa says he is pleased that he has finally managed to fulfill the pledge he made to the people of his constituency.
He has also thanked Mr. Chikwanda for the encouragement he gave him in fulfilling the pledge.
In receiving the 10 computers, School Headmaster Petraeda Manongo thanked the Acting Republican President and the area MP for their kind gesture to the school.
