New Nsama District appeals for constituency office
Nsama, March 31st, 2014, ZANIS — THE community in Nsama district has appealed for the construction of a parliamentary office in the area.
Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, Stephen Muscoda says the electorate in the area was having difficulties in reporting their issues to the parliamentary office which he said is located very far from the Boma.
Mr. Musonda he said the electorate in the area will be grateful if the said office relocated at the Boma as it was the most central place.
He lamented that it was challenging for the community to access government’s developmental projects in the area as they had to travel over 90 kilometers to Nsumbu where the office was located.
And Lupososhi MP Bwalya Chungu advised the community to sit together and select a suitable site for the construction of the office.
Mr. Chungu said as parliamentarians, they would not choose the construction site but would wait for the community to decide.
He said the committee had not yet constructed a parliamentary office but was currently renting one.
”We will respect the wishes of the community in order to foster development in the area,” he said.
The Parliamentary committee led by Chairperson Stephen Kapita was in Chimbamilonga constituency in Nsama district to explain the responsibilities of the area MP as well as the functions of the parliamentary office.
