NWWSC sets up new water pipes in Mufumbwe District

North Western Water and Sewerage Company (NWWSC) in Mufumbwe district of North Western Province has embarked on a programme to connect new water pipes across the district at cost of more than K4.3 million.

 

Branch Manager Clement Machayi says the exercise will see the utility company connect water to 600 new residents in Mufumbwe.

 

Mr Machayi revealed this in an interview with ZANIS in Mufumbwe District, today.

 

He said that his firm has since engaged Toshiba contractors who will finish installing the pipes by mid this year.

 

“K4, 390, 018 has been put up to do this project which we expect to conclude by the end of June,” he said.

 

Meanwhile, Mr Machayi says the company is also constructing a 500 cubic water tank at a total cost of K3, 681.898

 

He stated that the tank will allow the company to effectively implement its mandate of providing clean and safe water to the people of Mufumbwe.

 

Mr Machayi said the Contractor African Brothers is expected to complete phase one of the project by July 2014.
