ZAMBIAN champion, Ken Mukosa says he is ready to redeem himself and collect first points when the Mad-Max sponsored national motor rally second round revs off in Chisamba at the weekend.
Mukosa dropped out of the first round rally held in Chisamba last month after his Subaru N6 developed a mechanical fault in the second stage of the rally won by the Chulu brothers of Geoffrey and Lastone.
He said in an interview from South Africa yesterday that he was focusing on winning the rally so that he can put his title defence right on track.
“I was not happy with my performance in the first round because my car gave me problems but this time I am ready to compete till the end. Winning the rally will be a good boost as I prepare for the African Rally Championship,” he said.
Meanwhile, Zambia Motor Sport Association (ZMSA) vice-president Sam Ching’ambu said all was set for the weekend rally that revs off at the Seba farms in Chisamba.
Ching’ambu said the number of entries still stood at 19 and urged more drivers to register before Friday which is the deadline.
Chulu won the rally after finishing 30 seconds ahead of African champion Jassy Singh, who clocked one hour eight minutes and 48 seconds, and in third place was Muna Singh junior. Mukosa and former Zambian champion Mohammed Essa crashed out of the race.
