Opposition thanks govt for released funds in Mapanza constituency
CHOMA, 25th March, 2014, ZANIS —- Opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) Mbabala Member of Parliament Emphraim Mbelemu has commended government for releasing K500 thousand for the rehabilitation of Mapanza zonal rural health centre.
Mr. Mbelemu says the release of the funds will enhance the delivery of health services to the people of Mapanza.
He has also commended government for holding the district TB day celebrations at a rural health centre.
The opposition MP said this during the world TB day celebrations held at Mapanza rural health centre in Choma district also commended government for holding the district TB day celebrations at a rural health centre.
“That is what we rural MPS have been crying for, to have such important nation events celebrated in our rural constituencies, and am so grateful to government for this move”, he said.
Mr. Mbelemu further expressed happiness at Government’s move to construct health posts in his constituency namely Kabanze, Hakaloba ,Kachenje and Malindi to help accelerate delivery of health services.
“What we are appealing to Government, is to deploy health personnel to these health posts when they are completed to attend to our people,” he said.
And speaking earlier Choma district commissioner Bernadette Hamweemba said government is committed to provide quality health care services to people in rural areas.
Ms. Hamweemba, who officiated at the TB day celebrations in Mapanza , however assured the scores of Mapanza residents that government would ensure that the contractor gets on site soon.
