All the five Lusaka based civil servants who were involved in a road traffic accident along luwingu – Nsombo road have been discharged from the district hospital.
A check at the hospital by ZANIS luwingu revealed that all the officers from forestry research station in Chilanga were discharged yesterday after they recovered from minor injuries and fatigue.
The incident happened when vehicle a Toyota surf registration ALE 2740 they were travelling in careered off the road when the driver tried to avoid a pot hole and lost control and overturned several times.
The officers who were injured included Potiphar Tembo, 30, Chikonde Shula, and Elton Musonda 38, a Luwingu district forestry officer in charge have since been discharged from the hospital.
A reliable source at the district hospital who declined to be named confirmed to ZANIS that all the three officers were discharged and are said to be in good condition.
On Wednesday Northern Province commissioner Charity Katanga confirmed the accident in which the Toyota surf was involved in a road traffic accident near Damaso village in chief Tungati’s area.
Mrs Katanga said the accident occurred around 09:00 hrs on Tuesday after the driver lost control of the vehicle and the officers were rescued by the local police officers who rushed to the scene after they were informed by the village headman.
