Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) youths  in Solwezi district donated assorted items worth  K960 to inmates at Solwezi Central prison over the weekend.

The donation was  as part of the SDA global youth day celebrations .

Among the items donated to the female and male inmates were Boom,  detergent paste, toothpaste, glycerin and mineral water among others.

Speaking at the occasion, Copperbelt conference youth Chairperson Elijah Biyete said the donation was a community service
and part of global youth day celebrations whose theme was:  “Be the sermon.”

Mr. Biyete said the youths decided to donate to the inmates because of the many needs that the prison has.

He said the church has a duty to show kindness towards others as commanded by the word of God and called on other Christians to visit
those in need and take the word of hope to them.
