Each of Ghana’s 23-man squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals will be paid an appearance of US$ 75,000.
Sports Minister Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah has confirmed the amount remains unchanged from what was paid fours ago in South Africa.
“Based on our discussion the government insist that we should maintain our bonuses and for the record, the 2010 figure was $75,000 and so we should maintain the 2010 figure because we are all going through challenges,” he told Accra-based Power FM.
“[Winning bonuses] will also be maintained.”
Cabinet over the weekend approved US$ 9.6m budget for Ghana’s participation for this June’s tournament.
