A 10-year- old boy of Masansa in Luano district died on the spot March 14th after being hit by a speeding vehicle.
Masansa Police officer in charge Boyd Chisi who confirmed the development to ZANIS in a telephone interview in Luano today identified the boy as Conet Costa Nkausu, a grade three pupil of Masansa school.
Mr Chisi explained that the accident happened around 16:40 hours after a Mazda light truck, registration number ACB 5613 ran over the boy along Old Mkushi Road about 50 meters west of the cross junction.
According to an eye witness found on the scene, the pedestrian fell down while crossing the road when the speeding vehicle knocked him down.
Police have meanwhile launched a man haunt for the driver only identified as Adam Kamanga, 22, who is on the run.
Meanwhile , the body of the deceased is lying in Mkushi district hospital mortuary awaiting post mortem.
