Government advised teachers in Chibombo district to be professional and avoid being partisan.
Chibombo District Administrative Officer Brave Mazuba says government expects teachers to be professional and non – partisan in their work.
ZANIS reports that the DAO said this today when he addressed Heads of Department during the monthly Management Meeting held in the District Commissioner’s Conference Room .
Mr Mazuba said it has been noticed that some teachers in the district have been conducting themselves in a partisan manner which is against their professional ethics.
He said government’s demand for enhanced professionalism and nonpartisanship from all civil servants does not exclude teachers.
Mr Mazuba has since directed the office of the District Education Board Secretary (DEBS) to counsel teachers against the conduct.
He said disciplinary measures will be meted out on the erring teachers as per Public Service Disciplinary Procedures.
Mr Mazuba said the DEBS office must emphasis to the teachers during their Zonal meetings about the need for them to adhere to their professional ethics at all time.
