African Boxing Union (ABU) Champion Catherine Phiri today goes into the ring to fight Pia Mazelanik of Germany.
The Zambia boxing sensation will be fighting the German champion for the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver Bantamweight.
And Zimbabwean-born-boxer and African Boxing Union ABU Champion Charles Manyuchi will also be fighting WBC Silver International Champion, Patrick Allotey of Ghana for the vacant WBC International Welterweight title.
The fights which have received a sponsorship boost from Zamtel and other companies will take place at the Government Complex in Lusaka.
The two boxers are fighting under the Oriental Boxing Promotions and under coach Mike Zulu who has declared the two boxers ready for the fights.
This is the first time in history that Zambia is hosting the two World Boxing Council Senior Bouts.
