Chieftainess Nkomeshya of Chongwe district has denied assertions that over three hundred families in her chiefdom are to be displaced from their land.
Responding to media reports suggesting that families of Mungashi village in Chongwe district are to be displaced because their land has been sold out to some investors, the traditional leader expressed ignorance on the issue.
Chieftainess Nkomeshya stresses that none of her subjects can be displaced without her knowledge.
She has since assured the people of Mungashi village not to be shaken by such reports but remain calm.
Chieftainess Nkomeshya adds that she will engage all headmen in her chiefdom to ascertain such reports.
