TIZ Executive Director Goodwell Lungu has told Qfm News in an interview that the answers that controlling officers have been giving to the Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee are not convincing.
Mr. Lungu notes that it is sad and unfortunate the misapplication of public funds has now become normal for some officers who feel they can use public funds in whatever way they like.
Mr. Lungu says the onus is with President Micheal Sata as the appointing authority to deal with all controlling officers who are exhibiting dishonest characteristics in their work.
He has also called on the Anti Corruption Commission to speed up the process of investigating those cited for misuse of funds in the auditor general’s report.
Mr. Lungu stresses that the cited culprits should be investigated without wasting much time.
