Coach Patrice Beaumelle has named his final team to face Uganda in Wednesday’s friendly at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
Missing from the team will be regular defenders Jimmy Chisenga of Red Arrows and new Mamelodi Sundowns signing Hichani Himonde.
Hichani and Chisenga have both been dropped due to fitness problems following their recent recovery from injuries.
“Jimmy Chisenga was injured and I wanted him for this camp just to give him a chance to regain his fitness,” Beaumelle said.
Also dropped is Power Dynamos midfielder Julius Situmbeko including Nchanga Rangers and Zambia Under-20 striker Patson Daka.
Zambia Under-20 midfielder Godfrey Ngwenya of Power Dynamos also failed to make the cut.
However, Ngwenya’s Power and junior team mate Lubambo Musonda has made the team and is in line for fourth senior cap.
Meanwhile, Cypriot based midfielder William Njobvu will not make the trip for the friendly bringing the number of withdrawals and no shows due to injury for the friendly to three.
“I wanted to see him (William Njobvu) he received the letter but he didn’t come,” Beaumelle said.
Njobvu joins strikers Jacob Mulenga of Dutch club FC Utrecht and James Chamanga from Chinese side Liaoning Whowin who have been side-lined with long-term injuries.
