Samfya teacher arrested for assault
Samfya, February 28, 2014, ZANIS — A 27 year old woman of Mwamfuli
village is battling for her life in Samfya district hospital after allegedly being assaulted
by a local female teacher.
Jackline Mwansa is alleged to have been assaulted by Febby Chate who
is a teacher at Samfya primary school on suspicion of adultery.
Luapula Province Police Commissioner Malcolm Mulenga who confirmed the
incident to Zambia News and Information Services said police have
since arrested Ms Chate.
Mr. Mulenga said the 39 year old Febby Chate has been arrested and
charged for assault contrary to the laws of Zambia.
According to Police, Chate who was suspecting her husband Mwandwe Mwewa who is
also a teacher at Kasanka primary school to have been cheating on her
went to Jackline Mwansa and attacked her.
Meanwhile, Mwansa sustained several multiple injuries and is in a serious
condition while her alleged assailant Chate will appear in court soon.
