A youth organization has condemned student groupings which are demanding for the immediate release of the new constitution.
ZANGO youth consortium chairperson Kayimbo Katengo said ultimatums being given to government by students and other sections of society for the immediate release of the constitution should be stopped because such deadlines may lead to a failed process.
Mr. Katengo has since urged all students across the country to remain calm and distance themselves from calls to engage in unpatriotic activities.
He said in a statement issued to ZANIS today that the constitution making process should not be rushed.
He added that the process needs time and space in order to promote dialogue that can lead to a consensus based constitution.
Mr. Katengo further observed that the country was not in a constitutional crisis to warrant demands from some civil society organizations and the opposition political parties.
Meanwhile, Mr. Katengo has commended President Michael Sata for joining the social media network such as facebook saying this has broken down all barriers for the youths to access him.
He said the move enhances governance platform through which people can be reliably be informed of key government developments.
