Home Affairs Minister Ngosa Simbyakula told Parliament in a ministerial statement today that Mathias who was locked up in Police cells together two other accomplices on 14th February after being found in possession of a stolen cell phone was found unconscious in the morning of 15th February.
Dr. Simbyakula says deceased was pronounced dead after being rushed to the University Teaching Hospital.
He says Police investigations led to the arrest of the two inmates who were identified during an identification parade by fellow inmates.
Dr. Simbyakula says the two have since been charged with murder.
And Dr. Simbyakula says three Mazabuka Police officers and two neighborhood watch members will tomorrow appear in court for assaulting a female suspect Emily Manyoni who they beat up in the process of interrogation for allegedly buying a stolen Radio cassette.
