Government has procured one hundred and sixty basic life support ambulances worth seventy six point four million kwacha.
Speaking this morning during the occasion to officially distribute and hand-over the 160 ambulances procured for all district hospitals and General Hospitals throughout the country, Health Minister Joseph Kasonde said twenty ambulances have so far been distributed to various districts.
Dr Kasonde adds that forty two advanced life support ambulances have also been procured and awaiting delivery for distribution to hospitals countrywide.
He says two hundred and fifty sets of uniforms for the ambulances have also been procured.
Dr. Kasonde says eighty five ambulance drivers have also been trained in vehicle maintenance, observing traffic rules and first Aid.
