Zambia’s envoy in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) cup ZESCO United leaves the country tomorrow for Mozambique to take on Ferroviario Beira on Sunday.
The Ndola based side will however have to endure long travelling hours as the team will head to Kenya first, before going to South Africa and then Maputo for their 2014 CAF cup opener.
ZESCO United club media and public relations officer Katebe Chengo has disclosed the development to ZANIS Sports in Lusaka today.
Chengo said the team will leave Lusaka tomorrow at 02:00 hours via Nairobi to Johannesburg before getting into Maputo.
Chengo explained that the opted unusual flight was meant to avoid dispatching the team in two groups for the other available flights which she said would have been inconveniencing.
And ZESCO will travel without their key dependable Zimbabwean born defender Zimiseleni Moyo who has been ruled out due to an injury.
Moyo picked an injury in the charity shield semi final match against Red Arrows on 1st February at Arthur Davies stadium in Kitwe, the game which ZESCO lost 2-1.
The match against Ferroviario Beira will be ZESCO’s first 2014 continental opening encounter after enjoying a preliminary round bye.
