The Zambia National Women’s team this afternoon takes on Tanzania in the opening game of the 2014 African Women Confederation of African Football (CAF) qualifiers.
And Women national team coach Charles Bwale is optimistic that the Shepolopolo will beat Tanzania when the two teams clash this afternoon at Nkoloma stadium in Lusaka.
Bwale on Monday summoned a 23 women to make up the provisional squad that faces Tanzania.
The team has since been trimmed to 18 players as per CAF regulations.
ZANIS Sports reports that the Tanzanian squad arrived in the country yesterday for the preliminary round of the first leg match of the 2014 African women qualifiers.
The return leg between the two teams will be played on the 28thFebruary in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
The winner between the two teams will play either Botswana or Zimbabwe in the second and final round of the qualifiers for the 2014 CAF African women championship which will be hosted by Namibia in September this year.
