Police in Eastern Province have arrested a man identified as Malitono Phiri for allegedly murdering David Soko aged 32 of Chaola village in Chipata District.
Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo in a statement issued to QFM News says the incident happened on 1st February, 2014 at around 01:00 hours.
Mrs Katongo explains it is alleged that the duo went out for a drinking spree within the village, after which they had a misunderstanding which led to a fight resulting in the death of Soko.
She says the accused is said to have used a piece of wooden to hit the deceased person on the head who sustained a swollen head while he bleed from the nose and mouth.
The body of the deceased is lying in Chipata General Hospital Mortuary awaiting Postmortem
