Government, partners in commended for revamping agriculture
Lusaka, January 30, ,ZANIS——-A Farmer from Makopa Farmers Club in Mkushi has praised government and co-operating partners for the efforts they are making in revamping the agriculture sector in the country.
Machasa Goneli said what Development Aid from People to People (DAPP) in Zambia and CETZAM is doing is a commendable job in improving the welfare of the vulnerable Small Scale Farmers in society.
He said from the loan he was given with 25 other members, the funds have taken them to higher heights because it has made them improve their business ventures.
Mr Gonely said he is not the only person who has succeeded in improving his life after being empowered by CETZAM and DAPP in conjunction with the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock.
He said from the money he was given by CETZAM, he has managed to build a house, grow his vegetable garden as well as setting up a shop for his family.
Mr Goneli said this during the National Dissemination Workshop on Community Water Management project for traditional Farmers at Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka.
He also appealed to CETZAM and DAPP to extend the gesture to other parts of the country not only in so that more people can be able to benefit.
CETZAM and DAPP are currently offering financial and other services to vulnerable communities in Mkushi, KapiriMposhi , Masaiti and Chingola districts.
Mr Goneli said government’s measure to create a conducive environment for the agriculture sector to continue flourishing in the nation is a decision in the right direction.
