Civic leader appeals for bridge construction

——Chikupi Ward Councillor Visitor Moonga has appealed to government to construct a bridge on Chikupi  stream in Kafue district.

Mr Moonga says Chikupi stream gets flooded every rainy season resulting in the community being cut off from the rest of the district.

Mr Moonga noted that the community on the other side of Chikupi stream usually are not able to access services such as schools, health facilities and the market when the stream is flooded.

The civic leader was speaking when Kafue District Administrative Officer, Ngoni Moyo went to assess the situation in Chikupi Ward.

And speaking on behalf of Kafue District Commissioner, Grace Ngulube, District Admistrative Officer Ngoni Moyo assured the Councillor that government is commitment in safe guarding the lives of the people in the area.

Mr Moyo said the district office will inform the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unity, (DMMU) to come and assess the situation at the stream.
