–Namwala Acting District Agriculture Coordinator (DACO) Martin Sikainga says all farmers who have applied for Farmer Input Support Proramme (FISP) have collected there inputs for the 2013/2014 farming season.
He told ZANIS in an interview today that only a few farmers who have paid have not yet collected top dressing fertilizer.
Mr Sikainga said that the FISP programme in general has been a success for 2013/2014 but only a few challenges were experienced.
He said that all top dressing fertilizer supplied by Nyiombo is already in the district and that all farmers have collected basal fertilizer D compound.
Meanwhile MrSikainga says that so far the rain pattern in the district experienced has been good for crop production.
He added that should the rain continue in the same pattern a bumper harvest is likely to be experienced in this year’s farming season in the district.
