Zambia’s Power Dynamos Football club yesterday won the four intentional club friendly tournament after a 1 all draw with Democratic Republic of Congo’s side Don Bosco.
Power and Don Bosco both finished on 7 points each but the Tenant Chilumba drilled team won the tournament on a superior goal difference.
ZANIS Sports reports that South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundown’s emerged third after thumping Zesco United 3-1 in their last game of the tournament.
Zesco United finished on a disappointing fourth position after failing to collect any maximum points in all the three games played in the one week tournament which was held at Ndola’s Levy Mwanawasa stadium.
The four club competition was a build up tournament for Zesco United who are preparing for the CAF Cup match next month between the winner of Azam of Tanzanian and Ferrovarrio Beira of Mozambique.
Meanwhile, Power Dynamos Secretary, Ricky Mamfunda, said the club has commenced negotiations with Zesco United to sign former international defender, Nyambe Mulenga.
Mulenga, together with striker Patrick Kabamba, have been training with Power at the Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe after being laid off at Zesco United last month.
