—Government has commended the Chinese government for assisting Zambia in various developmental programmes it is currently undertaking.
Education, Science, Vocational Training and Early Education Minister, John Phiri, observes that China has been an all-weather friend in terms of education support and infrastructural development among others.
Dr Phiri further thanked the Chinese government for assisting Zambia in building remarkable infrastructures such as the railway line, bridges and major roads in the country.
ZANIS Reports that the minister was speaking when he officiated at the 2014 Chinese Film Festival in Lusaka yesterday.
The Chinese film festival is a prelude to the 2014 Chinese spring festival temple fair which is expected to take place on the January 25, this year, in Lusaka.
And Chinese Ambassador to Zambia, Zhou Yuxiao, said China stands ready to assist Zambia’s film industry and other key sectors of the country’s economy.
Mr Yuxiao further said China is ready to help Zambia in the field of culture especially as the country prepares to celebrate its 50th Independence Anniversary.
