The opposition MMD has endorsed the proposal by NAREP President Elias Chipimo Junior for the opposition political parties to agree to field a single candidate in future nullified parliamentary by-elections.
MMD Presidential Spokesperson, Muhabi Lungu, has told QFM News in an interview that the proposal is welcome as it will disadvantage the PF and enable the opposition to return their nullified seats.
Mr. Lungu says fielding one candidate is the only way the opposition can maintain their numbers of in parliament.
He says the NAREP leader’s proposal is well intended and meant to strengthen the opposition in the country and should be supported by all opposition political parties.
