Northern province Permanent Secretary Hlobotha Nkunika has commended the National Science and Technology Council for involving stakeholders in their research agenda.
Mr Nkunika said the development of the science sector in the country depends on the involvement of the community.
He noted that government wishes to develop and have a strong and well coordinated scientific research and Technological development in the country.
The Permanent Secretary said this in speech read on his behalf by Kasama District Administrative Officer Beauty Namukoko during the Northern province National Research Agenda Consultative workshop in Kasama today.
Speaking at the same function, National Science and Technology Council Executive Secretary Alfred Sumani urged the participants to take the workshop seriously.
Dr Sumani said the workshop is one of the council’s activities in the process of coming up with a well coordinated Research Agenda.
He noted that it is from this document that the council will be able to come up with the most important Research Agenda that will be presented to government.
And National Science and Technology Council Programs Manager Atridah Mulonga urged scientist to work together and come up with viable research ideas.
Ms Mulonga said the council is ready to support all scientists that have viable and strong ideas that will bring out good results.
