The Drug Enforcement Commission has arrested a businessman of Lusaka for trafficking in cocaine.
Happy Sakayi Kapalu, aged 40, a business man of Kabwata Site and Service in Lusaka, has been arrested on grounds of trafficking in two sachets of cocaine covered in transparent plastics.
DEC Public Relations Officer, Theresa Katongo told ZANIS in a statement today that Kapalu, who has been on the Commission’s watch list for a long time, was also found in position of two Zambian passports and two national registration cards belonging to him but bearing different names.
In another development, the commission has at the weekend arrested over 20 people for trafficking in cannabis.
One of the arrested, Haggai Mumba, a barman of Muzabula area in Solwezi allegedly trafficked in 300 balls of cannabis weighing 1.1 kilogramme and a 17 year old boy of Zambia compound in Solwezi for trafficking in 340 grams of cannabis.
