Emmanuel Mayuka says a win over Reims on Wednesday will erase Sochaux’s pain of Saturday’s 5-1 loss at Toulouse.
Mayuka who scored his third successive Ligue 1 goal with the opener against Toulouse said he was still very hurt by the margin of the defeat despite scoring for the visiting side.
Twelfth placed Toulouse came from 1-0 down after Mayuka had put Sochaux ahead in the 7th minute to deny coach Herve Renard his first Ligue 1 win.
“It was a huge disappointment and even though I managed to score again, the result hurts as I don’t believe it reflects the difference between both teams,” Mayuka said on his Facebook page.
And on Wednesday bottom placed Sochaux host 11th place Reims looking to avoid their second successive Ligue 1 defeat.
“Anyway, what’s done is done. Let’s get over it and get all three points on Wednesday against Reims,” Mayuka said, who is currently on loan at Sochaux from English club Southampton.
Sochaux have picked up three draws from six games under new coach Herve Renard since he took charge in early October after stepping down from the Zambia job.
