The Zambia Land Alliance (ZLA) has called on Government to consider conducting land audits frequently in order to avoid land wrangles.
ZLA Programmes Manager, Nsama Chikolwa, says conducting regular land audits would help establish how much land is available and if the right procedure was followed in the issuance of land.
Mrs. Chikolwa says there is also need for relevant authorities to carry out discussions and sensitization programmes aimed at educating the public on the importance of following the right procedure when acquiring land.
She adds that land audit will allow government through the local authorities to collect information over ownership and that those with fake documentation should be ready to face the law.
