On 19th of November 2013, the Swedish Embassy in collaboration with the Swedish Institute, will kick off a three-day entrepreneurship forum at Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka. The aim of this forum is to highlight the role of entrepreneurship towards sustainable national economic development and offer a platform for connections and collaboration between various Zambian and Swedish actors with a particular focus on ICT, women and sustainability. The forum will comprise interactive panel conversations, work-labs with business facilitators and cultural elements.

To ensure countrywide participation in the event, the Swedish Embassy is looking for 20 young entrepreneurs from 10 provinces of Zambia, to be awarded sponsorships to attend the event.

The awards include free attendance in the event, transport fare to and from Lusaka, accommodation for duration of the forum, meals and local travel to and from the conference venue.

Information about the event as well as an application form for sponsored participation can be downloaded online via the following websites:

  1. Zambia Information and Communication Technology Authority (ZICTA) website @ www.zicta.zm; and
  2. Zambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ZACCI) website @ www.zambiachamber.org

Applicants without access to the internet can visit the ZACCI head offices located in the Lusaka Showgrounds as well as its provincial offices for hard copies of an application form. Applicants for sponsorship are required to fill in an application form, and submit it either:  online application to http://www.zicta.zm/Sweden@Zambia, via email to [email protected] or by posting the application to P.O. Box 30844 for ZACCI head office. Applicants outside Lusaka are urged to drop their applications at their nearest ZACCI provincial offices.

The deadline for receiving application for sponsored attendance is 9 October 2013 and participation is strictly by invitation.
