The Anti-Corruption Commission has arrested former Southern province Permanent Secretary Edwin Zumbunu for corrupt practices involving more than K195, 000.00
ACC Corporate Affairs officer Christopher Chibanku in a statement issue to QFM says Mr. Zumbunu aged 40, of House Number 1448, Palm Drive, Chelstone in Lusaka was arrested yesterday by the Commission for Willful Failure to Comply with Applicable Procedure Relating to Procurement contrary to section 34(2) (b) and 41 of the Anti-Corruption Act No. 3 of 2012.
Mr Chibanku says details are that Mr. Zumbunu between 1st May, 2012 and the 31st August, 2012 as Permanent Secretary for Southern Province willfully failed to comply with applicable procedure relating to procurement when he approved works for the erection of a wall fence at plot GRZ 1, Kanyanta Road, in Livingstone, at the Southern Province Minister’s official residence.
The works were valued at K195, 087, 500.00.
Mr. Zumbunu has been released on Bond, and will appear before the Livingstone Magistrate Court on 30th September, 2013
