Political Scientist Dr. Alex Ngoma has observed that it will not be easy for the ruling Patriotic Front to penetrate Eastern province which remains a strong hold of the opposition MMD.
Dr. Alex Ngoma has told QFM News that the Patriotic Front (PF) lost the Mkaika by-election not because they did not do their homework, but because Eastern province remains an MMD stronghold.
Dr. Ngoma adds that the MMD’s chances of scooping the Mkaika by-election were further boosted by the United Party for National Development UPND’s failure to participate in the by-election hence all their sympathizers gave their support to the MMD.
He adds that the loss suffered by the Patriotic Front in Mkaika is a clear indication of a regional voting pattern.
