Zambian vocalist Chasaya Sichilima and his band brought their African sounds to Baden’s Castle Kilbride on Aug. 8.
Chasaya encouraged the full crowd at this week’s edition of the outdoor Castle Concert series to get on their feet and dance, an invitation that several had accepted by the end of the show.
The Zambian-born singer now lives in Kitchener and shares his homeland’s music with Ontario, but his songs and performance have also been well-received in Zambia.
A special Saturday edition of the Castle Concert series is happening at 2 p.m. on Aug. 10, when alternative-folk guitarist Vanyah will play in Baden.
The outdoor music continues at the regular time, 7 p.m. next Wednesday with the Festival City Big Band. The final concert will be Aug. 22, featuring the Celtic sounds of The Shananigans.
