Govt. expresses happiness at provincial cultural village in Mansa
Mansa, July 8, 2013, ZANIS —— Government says it is happy with the rate at which works on the provincial cultural village in Mansa Luapula province is progressing.
Mansa District Commissioner Miriam Kauseni says the introduction of provincial cultural village in the province is in line with government policy of promoting tourism in the country.
Mrs. Kauseni says the coming of the cultural village will give artists in the province an opportunity to showcase their work and create employment for many artists.
ZANIS reports that the district commissioner said this when she toured construction works at the cultural village where the first phase which caters for the dance arena has been completed.
The District commissioner observed that the coming of the cultural village in the province will help make youths productive and deter them from illicit activities.
She added that with the completion of airport terminals at Mansa Airport, the cultural village will also add to the many tourism attraction sites in the province.
The first phase of the provincial cultural village has been completed at cost of K312, 000.
Mansa district commissioner has toured both the provincial cultural village and the airport terminals at Mansa airport which are also expected to be completed by July 30, this year.
