He explained that his company has started preliminary discussions with Zamtel and the Zambia Information Communication Technology Authority (ZICTA) on how best to make use of its donated products to the Zambian government.

And Secretary to the Cabinet Rowland Msiska has urged Samsung Electronics to assist the Zambian government with its IT solutions by providing such to newly created districts where physical infrastructure is still a challenge.

Dr. Msiska suggested that the donated ICT equipment should be tried in newly created districts such as Shiwang’andu, which has internet connectivity, to see how its smart education, smart e-government, smart safe community and smart healthcare function.

He explained that if the pilot project proves efficient, government may consider extending this technology to other newly created districts.
