High-speed chase kills 2 kids

TWO children of the same family died on the spot while their mother is fighting for her life in a high-speed chase after her husband.
According to police, Mrs Makhosazana Dlamini Haanzala was chasing after her husband who she suspected was with another woman.
Zambia Police spokesperson Charity Munganga said in an interview that the accident happened yesterday around 20:00 hours at the junction of Leopards Hill and Godfrey Chitalu road in Nyumba Yanga in Lusaka.
Ms Munganga said Mrs Haanzala’s children, Michelo, 8, and Jolezya, 12 died of multiple injuries.
She said other passengers injured are Frank Haanzala and Nokwanda Dlamini while Mrs Haanzala is seriously injured.
“The injured people have been admitted to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH),” Ms Munganga said.
On whether Mrs Haanzala would be charged, Ms Munganga said: “As the police we are not thinking of charging her due to her critical condition.”
And NKOMBO KACHEMBA reports that a two-year-old girl in Kitwe’s Luangwa has drowned after falling into a well.
Kitwe district chief fire officer Stanley Chavula confirmed the incident in an interview yesterday and named the deceased as Jacqueline Siwale of house number 629 Luangwa.
“We received a call from Mr Bob Siwale around 21:00 hours on Friday that his daughter had fallen into a well. The incident happened around 15:00 hours,” he said.
Mr Chavula said officers from the fire brigade with help from on-lookers managed to retrieve the girl’s body.
