Thousands access health services in Kaputa District

Kaputa, June, 28/2013. ZANIS–: Over one thousand people in Kaputa District have been accessed medical services from the mobile hospitals provided by the Ministry of Health.

 

Kaputa District Commissioner Chrispin Kachusha confirmed the development to ZANIS today.

 

Mr. Kachusha said many people with various ailments turned up to receive medical attention during the mobile health services programme in Kaputa.

 

He said the four days the mobile hospitals were in Kaputa, people were able to be examined and treated for diseases like Malaria and hypertension respectively.

 

The DC praised the Ministry of Health for providing health services to the rural community in Kaputa closer to their households through the mobile hospitals.

 

Mr. Kachusha has since appealed to the Provincial Medical Office to consider facilitating the return of the mobile hospitals to Kaputa District following the overwhelming response from the local people in accessing health services from the facilities.

 

Meanwhile, Mr. Kachusha has called on Government to consider sending more health staff to Kaputa district Hospital to enhance the delivery of quality health services to the general populace.

 

Mr. Kachusha said Kaputa district Hospital is supposed to have 14 clinical officers, 40 nurses and at least six doctors to provide adequate health services to the community but that this was not the case.

 

The DC observed that the population in Kaputa is fast growing hence the need to have adequate health staff to service the local community.
