The Chase heats up
By Sam Phiri –
THE heat is definitely on in the Big Brother house with Kenya and Zimbabwe now feeling its extremes after Monday’s dramatic nominations.
Kenya is standing on a very sharp knife-edge following the nomination of its only remaining hopeful in the competition Annabel.
Kenya might just be the next country to completely become extinct from the 2013 Big Brother The Chase after Uganda led the earliest way out with its two male representatives LK4 and Denzel.
Part of Kenya was ejected in the first week through model and fashion fanatic Huddah and now only has a handful of hope in the nominated Annabel.
If Annabel manages to cross the bridge, it will surely be a huge plus for Kenya as it is already clear from the strap messages that Kenya is not really on Africa’s mind. But who knows? They might just pull that surprise and remain in the game.
Another nominee, whose stay in the house, is close to a collapsing Big Brother wall is Zimbabwe’s beauty queen Pokello.
The Zimbabwean short-haired diva has given Africa fewer reasons to keep her in the house, as she is too predictable and less entertaining.
Pokello is a ‘reserved’ individual who would not easily take part in fan games initiated by fellow housemates.
On Monday night for example, the Ruby house turned their house into a “court” where some housemates acted as lawyers, others as judges, while others played as complements and defendant.
It was hilarious and entertaining; a spirit-lifting moment, especially for those that had been made to face the gallows of eviction.
The whole act was boosted with enough alcohol, which Big Brother, provided to the house minutes before the nomination session but Pokello was as usual on a rather reserved side.
The nomination list includes Malawi’s loquacious Natasha whose long stay in the house is somewhat guaranteed looking at how she is playing the game so far.
Biguesas and Neyll are both from Angola, meaning that the entire Angolan representation in the house is at stake. Only Sunday will tell.
Now Zambia has continued to enjoy what would be described as a ‘safe stay’ in the Big Brother house after its two representatives in the names of Cleo and Sulu recorded the third week without tasting nominations.
However, Sulu made it clear to Big Brother during his diary session just before the nomination session that not being nominated was now making him feel uncomfortable as he would say:
“It is a good thing not to be nominated but again, I don’t know what it feels like to be nominated … so I don’t know how I will handle the nomination news when it comes to me. Anyway, it is the name of the game and we have to go through all its phases including the hardest part; eviction.”
As for Cleo, she says Jesus is her guide and she will play the game by simply living a life without exaggerations and pretences. She is loving the game, though many viewers can’t wait to see the day Cleo and Zimbabwe’s Hakeem would be put under one roof.
The CLEHEEM factor is at play here though physically apart. This is perhaps the impending romantic drama Africa would want to keep the two for in the house.
