Nakonde health center water restored
Nakonde, June 14, 2013, ZANIS… The Erractic water supply which hit
Nakonde First Level Referral Health Centre in Muchinga Province last
week has been normalized.
Nakonde district commissioner James Singoyi confirmed the development
to Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) Nakonde today.
He said that the institution has started receiving water and that the
water utility company will soon connect the institution to the main
pipe line which will be running on a 24 hour basis.
And a (ZANIS) reporter who went to check on the situation at the
health centre found people drawing water from the taps.
Meanwhile, Nakonde district medical doctor Chola Kaunda told ZANIS that
water supply was restored by Chambesh water and Sewerage company on
Monday this week.
Dr. Kaunda explained that the two pumps which broke down and caused the
water problem at the institution have also been repaired .
Last week the institution experienced a critical shortage of water
forcing people in the area to carry buckets of water to the mortuary
to wash bodies of their loved ones for burial.
