Chisala unhappy with construction pace

Kaputa, June 5, 2013, ZANIS—Northern Province minister Obious Chisala has expressed concern over the low pace at which a Chinese contractor is carrying out construction works at Kaputa boarding secondary school.

The minister has since directed the named contractor to quickly expedite the process of requesting for funds from government to accomplish the works.

Mr Chisala said this when he inspected the construction works currently going on at Kaputa boarding secondary school recently.

In a similar development, Mr. Chisala has also directed Sable Construction Company to double up their efforts and ensure that the Mporokoso-Kaputa road is worked on before the on – set of the rains.

He lamented that the pace at which the company is working is slow therefore retarding development in the area as the road is in a deplorable state.

And District Education Board Secretary Peter Musumali has appealed to government to scrutinize salaries for both degree and diploma holders in the district.

Mr. Musumali said all teachers are paid their salaries as primary school teachers saying the affected teachers should fall under the PEMC salary scale.

Mr Musumali said the development has contributed to teachers shunning to go and work in Kaputa district.

He further appealed to government to consider sending teachers to Kaputa secondary school as it is under staffed with only 415 out of the required 630 teachers.
