Machinery acquisition is ongoing – Lungu
Lusaka, June 1, ZANIS —-Government says acquiring of new machinery and the repairing of broken down machinery for all the Zambia National Service (ZNS) units in the country is an ongoing programme.
Defence Deputy Minister Joseph Lungu says government is committed in ensuring that ZNS is well equipped in order to improve its efficiency of constructing roads and dams countrywide.
Colonel Lungu disclosed that an additional 12 tractors have already being procured and distributed to various ZNS units across the country in order to enhance productivity.
ZANIS reports that the Deputy Minister said this when he toured the ZNS Land Development Branch (LDB) to check on the condition of the machinery in Choma yesterday.
And Col Lungu said a number of various developmental projects have been lined up to uplift Choma to its provincial capital status which includes road construction among others.
He said the ZNS in Choma will work closely with the provincial administration in ensuring that major roads connecting Choma are rehabilitated in good time.
Col Lungu has since reaffirmed that the ZNS has enough manpower to undertake any developmental projects across the country for the benefit of all Zambians.
