Mwamba ‘ breaths fire ‘ over Mongu Trades Training Institute management
Mongu, 29 May, 2013, ZANIS — Western Province Permanent Secretary
Emmanuel Mwamba has given seven days to Mongu Trades Training
Institute management to answer to a scope of audit queries done by the
provincial internal auditor.
Mr. Mwamba says the institution has been found with a lot of cases to
answer where they have abused resources.
ZANIS reports from Mongu that the Permanent Secretary said this when
he toured the institute today.
He said he ordered the institution to be audited after he visited the
institution earlier this year.
Among the charges the learning institution has been found wanting are
K41 million unretired imprest and K101 million unpaid tax to Zambia
Revenue Authority.
Others charges are that the institution has been flouting tender procurement
procedures, vandalism of a GRZ vehicle and misuse of general equipment
at the school.
And Mongu Trades Training Institute Principal Manager Elvis Moto said
management will respond to the audit in the stipulated period.
Meanwhile, Mr. Mwamba has urged law enforcement task force to show
firmness in dealing with cases of abuse of resources as to send a
warning lesson to would be offenders.
