APRM’s NGC to set up multi sectoral consultation

Samfya, May 23rd, ,2013,  ZANIS—The Africa Peer Review Mechanism (APRM)’s National Governing Council (NMC) says it is set to roll out multi-sectoral consultations across the country.

Zambia Chapter APRM NMC member Brig. Gen Timothy Kazembe says the multi-sectoral consultation will be held with a view to enlighten Zambians with the APRM matters of good governance and development.

ZANS reports Brig. Gen Timothy Kazembe said this during NMC organized sensitization meeting with various stakeholders
in Samfya, yesterday.

Gen Kazembe said NMC is elated with the strides made by the PF government in its quest to implement good governance ideals through its sound policies and consultative processes aimed at
uplifting the general livelihood of Zambian citizens.

He said the recent peer review of President Michael Sataon behalf of Zambia in Addis Ababa Ethiopia, early this year is one indicator that
the Zambian government is on track in its outline to fulfill the APRM principles.

The NMC member said council was scaling up its efforts to reach the grassroots in rural communities and other parts of the country through
District Consultative Forums targeting to raise awareness to people over the peer review mechanisms using a bottom up approach.

And Samfya Council Secretary Harry Twenda  says the PF Government was making scores in certain aspects of peer review mechanisms.
